IP Lookup returns the approximate location and network owner for an IPv4 or IPv6 address: country, region, city, postal code, time zone, coordinates and the organization that announces the address. It is useful when a login, a log entry or a firewall alert names an address and you want to know roughly where it sits and who runs it.
Good to know. Geolocation describes where an address is registered or observed, not where a person is. Treat the coordinates as a general area and never as a street address.
