bcrypt is a deliberately slow password hashing function with a built-in random salt and an adjustable cost factor. This page creates bcrypt hashes and also checks a password against an existing hash, which helps when you are seeding a test database, debugging a login that will not accept a known password, or choosing a cost value for production.
Password: hunter2, Cost: 4

0 of 72 bytes used. bcrypt only considers the first 72 bytes of a password.
Each step doubles the work. 10–12 is recommended for most applications.
Hashing runs entirely in your browser using a pure-TypeScript bcrypt implementation verified against the published OpenBSD test vectors. Your password is never sent anywhere.
