Questions about vCard generator

Which version should I pick?

Version 3.0 is read almost everywhere. Version 4.0 writes phone numbers as tel: links and dates in compact form, but some older address books ignore it, so use 3.0 unless you have a reason.

Why is there no QR code for my card?

QR codes stop being reliable when the payload passes about 1200 bytes. A long note or address pushes the card over, so the page shows the byte count and asks you to trim it. The .vcf download still works.

Why do semicolons appear with backslashes?

Semicolons, commas and line breaks are structural in the format, so they are escaped. Lines longer than 75 octets are folded, with the cut placed so a multi-byte character is never split.

Can I add a photo or several addresses?

Not here. There is no photo field, and the form holds one address, though you can add as many phones and emails as you need.
