About Reverse letters

The reverse letters tool writes your entire text backwards from the last character to the first, so Hello big world becomes dlrow gib olleH. Both the letters and the order of the words are flipped, which makes it the mirror image of the whole string. It is popular for palindrome checks, puzzles and simple text tricks.

How to use it

1. Enter or paste your text in the Text box.
2. Click Reverse Letters.
3. Read the mirrored string in the Reversed Letters panel; your original is shown beneath it.
4. Use Copy to place the reversed string on the clipboard.

When to use it

• Checking whether a phrase is a palindrome by comparing it with its own reversal.

Questions about Reverse letters

How is this different from Reverse words?

Here the whole string is reversed as one unit, so the last word appears first. In Reverse words each word is flipped in place and the sentence order stays put.

Are spaces and punctuation reversed too?

Yes, every character moves, including spaces, punctuation and line breaks. A sentence ending in a full stop therefore starts with one after reversal.

Why do some emoji look wrong after reversing?

The string is reversed unit by unit in UTF-16, and emoji use a pair of units. Reversing the pair yields an invalid sequence, so such characters may show as boxes or question marks.

Can I get back the original by running it twice?

For text made of ordinary characters, yes. Reversing twice restores the input exactly. Text with emoji or combining accents may not survive because the first pass already separated their parts.
