text toolsText arrives messy. A copied spreadsheet column has duplicate lines, an export has stray double spaces, a contract draft needs a word count, and a list of names needs sorting. Doing these edits by hand is slow and error-prone, and this category handles them in one paste-and-click step each.
The tools split roughly into counting and analysis, cleanup, transformation and playful formatting. Writers check character limits and word frequency, marketers extract email addresses or URLs from a block of copy, developers strip whitespace or number lines, and students try a Caesar cipher or the NATO phonetic alphabet.
A few tools speak text aloud or show what hides inside a string, such as the Unicode inspector, which is handy when a stray invisible character breaks a form. Combine them freely: remove line breaks, deduplicate the result, then sort it. Keep the original text until you have checked the output, since a cleanup step cannot always be undone once you paste over your source.
Measure length, frequency and structure. Good for meeting a character limit or spotting overused words.
Remove noise from pasted text, or make bulk changes to every line at once.
Treat each line as a list item: sort, shuffle, reverse, compare or pull addresses out of longer text.
Change how text looks or is written, from case rules to ciphers and novelty styles.
