About Reverse words

The reverse words tool flips the letters inside each word while leaving the words in their original places, so Hello big world becomes olleH gib dlrow. That is different from reversing a whole sentence. People use it for word puzzles, light obfuscation, palindrome experiments and novelty text.

How to use it

1. Type or paste your sentence or paragraph into the Text box.
2. Click Reverse Words.
3. Look at the Reversed Words panel, which also repeats your original text underneath for comparison.
4. Press Copy to take the result.

When to use it

• Creating a quick puzzle where readers have to decode each backwards word.
• Testing whether a word reads the same reversed, which is how palindromes are checked.
• Making playful, hard-to-skim text for a game, a caption or a classroom activity.
• Checking how software displays mirrored strings inside a normal left-to-right sentence.

Questions about Reverse words

Does it reverse the order of the words?

No. Word order stays the same and only the characters inside each word are reversed. If you want the entire string reversed end to end, use the Reverse letters tool instead.

How does it decide where a word starts and ends?

It splits on single space characters only. Punctuation stays attached to its word, so hello! becomes !olleh, and repeated spaces are kept as they were.

What happens across line breaks?

A line break is not a separator here. If two words sit on either side of a line break with no space, they are reversed as one long word, so ab followed by cd on the next line becomes dc then ba.

Will emoji and accented letters survive?

Plain accented letters usually do. Emoji and other characters stored as two UTF-16 units get their halves swapped, which can garble them, so avoid emoji in the input.
