About Images to PDF

This tool combines up to 50 images into one PDF, placing each on its own page. You can reorder them, pick a page size and orientation, set margins, and choose how each image fits the page. Everything is assembled in your browser, which suits scans, receipts and photo sets.

How to use it

1. Drop JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF images onto the drop zone, or click to browse.
2. Use the up and down arrows to reorder the list, and the X button to remove an image.
3. Under Page Settings choose Page Size: A4, Letter, A5 or Match Image. Then set Orientation.
4. Pick a Margin (None, Small, Medium or Large) and an Image Fit of Fit, Fill or Stretch.
5. Select Create PDF, then download maffei-images.pdf.

How Fit places one photo

A4 is 595.28 by 841.89 points and the Small margin is 10 points, leaving 575.28 by 821.89. The image is scaled by 0.479 to about 575.3 by 383.5 points and centered vertically. One page is produced.

Questions about Images to PDF

How do the three fit modes differ?

Fit shrinks the image to sit inside the margins without ever enlarging it, and centers it. Fill scales it to cover the whole area and lets the excess be cropped. Stretch forces it to the exact area, distorting the proportions if needed.

Which image formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF. JPEG and PNG are embedded as they are, while WebP and GIF are first redrawn as PNG through a canvas, so an animated GIF contributes a single still frame.

Why is my image small on the page?

Fit never upscales, and pixels map to points one to one. A 300 pixel wide image therefore occupies 300 points, roughly four inches, on a page that is 595 points wide.

What does Match Image do?

Each page takes the exact pixel dimensions of its image, so page sizes can vary through the document. Orientation and the fixed paper sizes are ignored in that mode.

What happens if one image is corrupt?

It is skipped and listed by name with the reason, while the rest still go into the PDF. Only if every image fails does the tool report an error.
